Isherwood painted a great deal of portraits. Hundreds of mother Lily in various locations and always signed on the reverse as the Lancashire Madonna. There are not many self portrait's in existence. He did paint a series of 'Stunt' nude paintings of people such as Mary Whitehouse, Dusty Springfield and the Beatles.
